Februar 17-en az LA Times egy kisebb cikkben hozta le, hogy Lugosi szerepelni fog Ed Wood uj filmjeben es Transvestite-ot ad meg cimkent (Glen or Glenda-kent ismerjuk manapsag, de elofordul 'I Led Two Lives', 'He or She?' es 'I Changed My Sex' cimeken is) A cikkben Wood kijelenti, hogy a filmnek nincs koze a(z akkori) hirekben szereplo ugyhoz. Az emlitett ugy Christine Jorgensen (1926–1989) nevehez fuzodik. O volt az elso transz no, akin atalakito mutetet hajtottak vegre es akkoriban a sajto sokat cikkezett rola.

A film munkalatai 4 napig tartottak. Lugosi jeleneteit -aki egyebkent egy tudost alakitott- a Los Angeles-i Jack Miles Studio-ban vettek fel. Egyes ertesulesek szerint $5000 vol a gazsija, masok $1000 emlitenek. 

A 'Glen or Glenda'-ert Ed Wood 1980-ban -poszthumusz- megkapta a 'Minden idok legrosszabb rendezoje' dijat (Golden Turkey Award)

Sheffield accompanied Lugosi to the old Sennett studios for an appearance on You Asked for It on July 27, 1953.

Toward the end of October 1953, Bela sold some of his possessions at a public auction and moved from his Baldwin Hills apartment to another at 4691 Rodeo Lane.
